No Kings, and more

Saturday, March 28th, saw record crowds on the Mall and nearby – attending the No Kings rally, the Cherry Blossom Kite Festival, and the cherry blossoms at peak bloom.

No Kings

There were multiple No Kings rallies around the city. We went to one of the two largest ones – starting at Memorial Circle by Arlington Cemetery, walking over Memorial Bridge, going around the Lincoln Memorial, and then dispersing across the Mall (the other large one marched over the Frederick Douglass Bridge).

Giant paper mache heads of Trump and several members of his cabinet were a hit on Saturday. The heads were made by artist Megan Marlatt along with artists from the Third Act of Northern Virginia.
