This week, snow and ice remain, but we got to see the new pandas! and we are also paying attention to the squirrels, since Squirrel Appreciation Day is January 21st.

The pandas

Zoo members have already gotten a chance to see the new pandas, and the public viewing begins January 24th.

Bao Li

Bao Li is the son of our beloved Bao Bao (who was born at the zoo, and left for China in 2017 when she turned four).

Despite the snow and freezing weather, D.C. remained the capital city with its official functions – rehearsals for the Inaugural parade, and the funeral events for President Jimmy Carter.
