Squirrel Week

The albino squirrels are some of our favorites. They are rare, but can be found on the Mall and in some neighborhoods. We wrote about them recently.

Prairie dogs

Prairie dogs are close relatives of squirrels, and since they are so cute (and easy to view at the National Zoo), we’re including them here. But note, they can be killers – murdering their cousins, the Wyoming ground squirrels, when they are competing for the same territory.
