The historic arraignment of Donald Trump yesterday in D.C. drew a large crowd of onlookers and media. Here is what we saw around the courthouse:

Media

There was more media there than we’ve ever seen except for elections and Inaugurations.

Security

Security is obviously complex for an event like this, especially since it requires the coordination of at least four different protective services – Secret Service, Metropolitan Police, Park Police, and Federal Marshalls. The crowd was generally calm and the officers generally friendly, so everything went well.

Trump’s motorcade came into the secure garage under the courthouse – just beyond the police truck on this street:

There were sharpshooters on the roof of the court looking down as Trump’s motorcade arrived.
