The small creatures of summer

While we humans are drooping in the summer heat, some of the smaller animals around D.C. seem to have as much energy as ever. Here are some of them we’ve seen in recent hot days:

A Heroic Rescue

It isn’t always easy being a city animal. Recently, Angela saw a duck family happily walking around the Capitol Reflecting Pool, when one duckling fell into the drainage.

Fortunately, she made a few calls and finally the Architect of the Capitol’s office came with a rescue team and the duckling was saved.
