The Seagulls of D.C.

If you’re not going to the beach this summer, you can catch the beach vibes by watching the local seagulls. Anywhere there’s a bit of water, you can find gulls. They’ll feed on almost anything, with a special love for food trash.

Here’s some of the places where we enjoy watching them around D.C.:

Note: There’s actually no such thing as a seagull. While many of us call them “seagulls,” they are actually just “gulls” with about 30 species found in North America – Ring-billed gulls, Herring gulls, Laughing gulls, Black-headed gulls, etc.
