Kites and Blossoms

Last Sunday was a joyous day in D.C., with the Blossom Kite Festival and the cherry blossoms in full peak. It seemed like all of D.C. was there – Metro set a recent high point with 340,000 passengers on Sunday, bikes were everywhere, plus all the mis-guided people who attempted to drive.

Even after the cherry blossoms fade, there’s still a lot more to the cherry blossom festivities in the next couple of weeks, including the parade, Petapalooza, and Sakura Matsuri – see the full schedule.

  1. These are so lovely. Really great captures! I was there with my family and it was sooooo crowded. Metro was not fun but would have been even worse if we had drove. The intersections were full of pedestrians even when the lights were green and the cars had the right of way 😳 thanks for highlighting the better aspects of that day 🥰 the kite shots are just 😘

    1. Thanks for the nice comment! It was definitely crazily crowded, with pedestrians and cars everywhere.
