It’s Thanksgiving weekend, so we wanted to each share something that we are grateful for getting to photograph and experience in D.C.
The next generation of activists
One of the things that I love about DC is how everything, even activism, can be a family affair.

Rock Creek Park
I am and will always be thankful for Rock Creek Park and the incredible amount of wildlife that it supports. There is no need to leave the city – we have the very best of Mother Nature right here.

The Pride of Lions
I will always be thankful for our memories of the National Zoo’s beautiful pride of lions. This fall we lost two of the pride’s elderly members, the regal patriarch Luke and one of his mates, Naba. They leave behind Naba’s sister Shera, and several now-grown lion cubs at several zoos including at the National Zoo. Here are a few pics of the pride from happier times.
