For the last several years, Light Yards at Yards Park has presented a light installation featuring prominent international light sculptors and artists. We’re glad to see the tradition carrying on this year despite the pandemic, with music and immersive light design by sculptors Amigo & Amigo from Australia.
The stars are lit 6-10pm at The Yards through Jan. 10th. Masks required, large open area generally easy to keep a safe distance.
Here’s a look back at previous displays, showing the immense creativity of light artists.
2019
2019 featured an interactive exhibit of gigantic weird balloon shapes, by Airship Orchestra curated by ENESS of Australia.

2018
2018 was all about jumping for joy, as the colors changed with movement at The Pool by Jen Lewin Studio of Brooklyn, NY.

2017
Light globes, created by Lucion Media of Canada, let visitors draw and project on them using light.

2016 started off the tradition of Light Yards with giant rabbits by Amanda Parer of Australia, along with lots of other lights, interactions, and performances.

Appreciate this post. Happy Holidays to all!
Thanks for sharing this from this year and all previous. The extent of events, items, exhibitions, and political drama that are available to you every day is bountiful. I imagine one can never be bored in the “uncommon District!”
